Gathering design history data through participation

A participatory action research project to track the history of design in Puerto Rico across different industries. With the support of the MADMi (Museum of Design) and in collaboration with designers, researchers, and historians, the project aims to generate an inclusive timeline of design on the island for documentation, research, and future generations.

DESIGN, RESEARCH

  • This project seeks to collect the history of design in Puerto Rico on a collaborative, community-based approach and educate about the diversity found.

  • The project consists of 3 phases. Phase 1 (current), is participatory data gathering.

    Phase 2 is data validation and research.

    Phase 3 is an exhibition, publication, and online platform.

  • Designer, presentation, project coordination.
